It's the first day of fall and what better way to celebrate than sharing some fantastic fall recipes? Check out the season's best flavors like apple, pumpkin, pear, and sweet potato served up in both sweet and savory dishes!

Caramel Apple Whoopie Pies

My Gram's whoopie pies were legendary.  I put a twist on her recipe with spice cake, caramel apples and marshmallow filling.

Cider Bacon Chicken

Quick and easy to make! Great for when you want a taste of fall but don't want to heat the house up too much!

Pear Crisp Ice Cream

We still have 85 degree days in fall, and this ice cream is the perfect treat for those days!

Apple Cranberry Pecan Overnight Oats

I eat mine straight from the jar, topped with the delicious brown sugar coated pecans.  You can also heat them up.  Both ways are delicious.

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Pumpkin Pie Spice is a super easy thing to make at home, it's just a few ingredients and a couple minutes to put it together. It's great in oatmeal, coffee, smoothies, and pie, of course!

I always keep puff pastry stashed in the fridge, it's great for turnovers and strudel!

Delicious and guaranteed to keep away vampires!

Grilled Apple Tossed Salad

There are days in September that even though the calendar says it's fall, the thermometer screams summer!  This recipe is perfect for those days.

I know that I'm guilty of going all gaga for apples, but there are so many awesome pear varieties available too!

Apple Spiced Tea

Great for sipping around the fire pit (and gets even better with a splash of Fireball!)

Quinoa Stuffed Squash Boats

I love checking out the farm stand for different types of squash.  These delicata were stuffed with quinoa, dried cranberries, chick peas and topped with pepitas.

Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

One of the most pinned recipes from the blog of all time.  Great straight from the fridge or warmed up, one of our favorite grab and go breakfasts!

Hasselback Sweet Potatoes

This one is the hit of our holiday dinners.  Even people who say they hate sweet potatoes love it!

Cranberry Apple Quick Bread with Coffee Glaze

Grated apples gives you the taste and the moisture without having to worry if big chunks will cook through.  The dried cranberries give a nice little pop of tartness.  And the coffee glaze just ties it all together.

 Crunchy Maple Glazed Squash

Even my veggie hating guys liked this one!  Delicata squash with maple, thyme and a little bit of panko.

Craving fall flavors but still harvesting zucchini from your garden? This is the recipe for you!

  Apple Cider Tea Madeleines

Plain, dusted with confectioner's sugar, or glazed, they'll be a hit however you serve them up!

Granny Smith Pizza

Thin crispy dough, bacon, candied nuts, cheese, marinated chicken, and of  course, apples!

Ginger Pear Muffins

A treasure from my mom's recipe box, amped up with some pears and crystallized ginger.

Apple Chicken Stew

Colorful and flavorful, filling without being heavy. I know it sounds weird, but it's absolutely delicious!

One of my favorite ways to eat squash is roasted, I just love the texture, and you can fill them with so many awesome things, like cranberries!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

Perfect for breakfast, lunch box treats or after school snacks!

Pretzel Topped Sweet Potatoes

Sweet, salty, crunchy, smooth, this one hits on all 8 cylinders.  Serve it up family style or in individual ramekins if you want to be fancy.

We're big fans of maple syrup and combined with honey and orange it makes the most amazing cranberry sauce!

Perfectly spiced apple topped with a delicious crumble, then just a bit of powdered sugar glaze.

 ABC Sheet Pan Dinner

I love how easy sheet pan dinners are to make and also to clean up.  It's also a great way to use up various veggies you have on hand!

 Cranberry Sweet Potato Muffins

Not overly sweet, these muffins are great plain, but also excellent griddled and spread with a little cream cheese.

Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal

Break out your slow cooker for a delicious breakfast! Some glazed pecans, some Craisins and a few pepitas and some maple syrup really put it over the top.

Copycat Dunkin Donuts Bacon and Cheddar Omelet Bites

Since I already came up with a version of Dunkin Donuts new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites for myself, I decided to make the other variety that they are offering, Bacon & Cheddar, for my husband. Super simple.  Beat up some eggs with salt and pepper.  Add in some shredded cheddar and a slice of bacon cut into 1/4" pieces (I used kitchen shears).  Bake them for about 9 minutes in sprayed mini donut pans. They baked up light and fluffy.  The bacon stayed crisp and there's just the perfect amount of cheese.   I split them up into portions in zip top bags and that way we can just grab a bag and warm them up. My husband laughed when I told him 3 is the serving size.  I'll definitely be doubling the recipe next time! ************************* Copycat Dunkin Donuts Bacon & Cheddar Omelette Bites Print With Image Without Image Author: Jolene's Recipe Journal Ingredients 4 large eggs 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 3T shredded cheddar cheese 1 slice cooked ba

Copycat Dunkin Donuts Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites

I'm a huge fan of the Dunkin Donuts Power Breakfast sandwich, so when I started seeing ads for the new Egg White & Veggie Omelet Bites I stopped in and gave them a try.  They were delicious, but of course, I knew I could make them at home.  I started with the whites of six eggs. You can use pasturized whites if you don't want to do the whole separating, finding a use for the yolks thing.  I beat them up with some salt and pepper. Next up, the tomato and spinach.  I used grape tomatoes, seeded them and then chopped them into 1/4" pieces. I like baby spinach, and I took about 10 leaves and chopped those up into 1/4" pieces as well. I added that to the egg mixture.  When you pour it into the pans, be sure that it all gets evenly distributed.   They bake up pretty quickly, around 9 minutes or so.  Dunkin gives you two egg bites, the mini donut serving size is three. I pop them in ziplocs in the fridge and just pull a bag and reheat them in the microwave for a quick

Speedy Shepherd's Pie- Taste of Home 100 Family Meals cookbook

How often does your family eat meals together?  My husband worked second shift for over a decade, and it was a rare occasion for us all to sit down at the same time and eat.    Once he went to a better schedule, mealtime moved back to the table.   This past fall, we bought a house, and in the chaos of moving, we drifted away again.    Son likes to eat in front of the computer or phone, husband in front of the tv.   I'm guilty too, sometimes the jigsaw puzzle I'm working on can render the dining room table unusable for days. Looking for inspiration, I turned to Taste of Home's 100 Family Meals .  As you can see by the number of pages I marked, there's lots to be found! There are suggestions for entire meals, complete with a list of groceries you need.    It's well categorized for easy mixing and matching too.       The first recipe I chose was Speedy Shepherd's Pie.    It's a fun twist on the traditional version, using taco seasoned meat as the base.
